Since 2016, the Marathon du Vignoble d’Alsace has been Eco-manifestation Alsace label.
This commitment, renewed each year, is based on the Eco-Events Charterwhich highlights the concrete actions undertaken by our team and partners.
Our goal for the 20ᵉ edition in 2026 : maintain level 3 of certification – with your support!

A team dedicated to the environment 🌿
Our dynamics Greenteam is mobilized on all fronts:
- Throughout the year, our Greenteam works on various initiatives
- Weekend presence at the Marathon Village in Molsheim
- Presence at the start of the half-marathon in Scharrachbergheim
- Greenteam referents at refreshment stands and in the villages we pass through

Waste reduction and sorting ♻️
- Reusable cups at the Marathon Village (€2 deposit returned with the cup) – These cups are washed and reused.
- Reusable tableware for meals, say goodbye to disposable plates and cutlery!
- More selective sorting thanks to our partnership with Select’om :
- Yellow bags: plastics and metal cans
- Blue bins: paper cups
- Biowaste: composting
- Black bags: non-recyclable waste
- Playful ashtrays in the Marathon Village and at the start to keep butts off the ground.
Water management 💧
Thanks to the SDEA17 water points are distributed along the route, using water from the drinking water network.
👉 The result: thousands of plastic bottles avoided every year!

Soft mobility and carpooling 🚲🚗
Mobility is our biggest source of emissions everyone can take action!
🧍♂️ Carpooling encouraged via the Mobicoop → priority parking spaces in the Carrefour Dorlisheim parking lot for vehicles with 3 or more occupants.
🚆 Train easy connection to Molsheim.
🚴♀️ Bike Secure bike parking in the heart of the Marathon Village.
🚌 Free shuttles available.

Fighting food waste 🍽
Tailored portions for Saturday evening meals (Spätzle Party) and Sunday lunch (Assiette du marathonien) to satisfy everyone’s appetite, without waste!
Redistribution of unserved meals thanks to our partnership with Emmaüs Scherwillerwhich recovers and recycles this food.
Choice of menus and foods suitable for preservation and redistribution.
